Ok, remember last week when I said I hated Halloween? My polarizing opinion on the holiday still stands, but that doesnโt mean I canโt enjoy a lil Halloween movie here โn there. Last Christmas, Emily and I were cooped up in her apartment alone for the holidays, so to cheer ourselves up we created a 31 day holiday movie marathon in a group chat with some friends. It works like this: everyone watches one movie a night (some nights will have double features), and ranks the movie on a scale of 1-10. At the end of the month we take everyoneโs scores, average them out, and create a definitive list of Halloween movies from best to worst. We are deciding to make it a bit of a tradition on a few different months: October will be Halloween movies, December will be Christmas movies, and June will be LGBTQ+ movies. On October 1st we start our Halloween movie marathon with one caveat: I cannot and will not watch horror movies. So enjoy this list of nostalgic, spooky faves (and links to where you can stream each film), and maybe join in with us?

For instance, if you need to squeeze the most out of that Showtime 7 day free trial, maybe stack all the Showtime movies on the same week ;) Iโll update this post or leave a comment at the end of the month with our definitive list once weโve ranked everything from best to worst.
